Dawn Leitner Executive Vice President
Dawn Leitner is the President and CEO of Momentum Coaching Alliance, which specializes in leadership development and team building for Fortune 500 companies. Dawn is a certified executive management and leadership coach with over 20 years of leadership and management experience in the IT Industry. She works with IT managers and teams at all levels of the organization in reaching their goals by focusing on their individual strengths and tuning into the behaviors of others to be more effective as leaders and managers. Prior to starting her company, Dawn worked for Computer Sciences Corporation for 18 years in various management and leadership roles supporting the IT services and outsourcing division.
Gireesh K. Gupta Secretary Vice President of Education Regional Coordinator for AITP Student Chapters
Gireesh Gupta is an Associate Professor of Computer Information Systems at Belmont Abbey College. He has been deeply involved with the Association of Information Technology Professionals - Charlotte Chapter for over 20 years. For several years he served as the part-time director of the Academic Computer Center at Belmont Abbey College. Prior to his current position, he was Assistant Professor of MIS at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, N.Y. Gireesh's research interests focus on computer literacy and has published several papers in that area. He also enjoys writing for the op-ed section of a local newspaper.
Ken Pitts Vice President of Activities Region Director
Ken Pitts has been a member of the Charlotte Chapter of AITP since 1984 and has held numerous offices at the chapter level. He has achieved the Emerald Award level of recognition in AITP. He is a graduate of University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a degree in Business Administration. He spent over 13 years in sales and management with the Office Products Group of Burroughs Corporation (now Unisys). He is the founder and owner of Precision Business Forms. The company, established in 1991, sells printing, forms, computer/hardware supplies and accessories and advertising specialties in North and South Carolina. Currently he is still active in this business.
William Myers Vice President of Membership
For the past sixteen years, Mr. Myers has been Associate Professor of Computer Studies at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina. He has been a member of AITP/DPMA since 1988 and a member of the Association of Computing Machinery since 1986. He has served for eighteen years on the Committee for the CCSC:Southeastern Computing Conference and for eight years as Treasurer of the Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges. For eight prior years he served as Membership Secretary of the Consortium. Mr. Myers received a B.S. in mathematics from Purdue University in 1971, an M.A. in mathematics from the University of Colorado in 1974, and an M.S. in Computer Science Education from the University of Evansville in 1985. Mr. Myers is an avid swimmer and hiker and a sometimes biker (especially when gas prices rise.) He was born in Indiana and has previously taught mathematics at VPI&SU and Hampden Sydney College in Virginia and computing at Union College in Kentucky. He has been active in a number of computer curriculum activities and has a keen interest in computing programs at smaller liberal-arts colleges.
Aaron Condon Vice President of Awards
Mr. Condon is the Systems Support Administrator for the Office of College Relations at Belmont Abbey College. Mr. Condon is also an Instructor at Belmont Abbey College for the Computer Studies Department and at Pfeiffer University –Charlotte for the School of Adult Studies. Mr. Condon has worked for such companies as FMC – Lithium Division, IBM, Lucent Technologies, BASF and Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. Some of the positions held at these companies have been Help Desk, PC Technician – Level II, Project Assistant, and Migration Specialist. Mr. Condon received his BS degree in Computer Information Systems from Belmont Abbey College with a minor in Business. Mr. Condon also went on to earn an MS degree in Software Development and a Graduate Certificate in Software Project Management from Winthrop University. While at Winthrop Mr. Condon was a Graduate Assistant for the College of Business. Aaron also serves as the Secretary of AITP Region 18.
